This Christmas, S&G Response wanted to make the occasion special for some very deserving children through our Christmas appeal, collecting toys and donations, whilst raising awareness for The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT) charity.
Altrincham based charity, The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust, provide a variety of free holiday programmes for terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children. The Adventure Farm is a truly extraordinary place that gives children well needed respite and the opportunity to play and laugh, and simply enjoy being children. They even cater for carers and family members to holiday with them too, making their visit as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Every December this same farm is transformed into a magical winter wonderland where over 1,600 children from the North-West can enjoy a special Christmas party, where they meet Father Christmas and are gifted new toys.
S&G Response split the business into six teams with the aim of each team using innovative ideas and teamwork to collect as many new toys as possible. The teams for surpassed our target, utilising local communities, events and fundraisers, and in the end they collected a whopping 1,715 presents! Collectively the presents donated had a monetary value of over £8.5k.
The S&G Response Christmas appeal challenge saw employees implement all manners of fundraising ideas, from donation pages, bake sales, collection points in supermarkets and the local Christmas run, to requesting help from other companies including large toy manufacturers who donated a massive two pallets of toys.
On Friday 13th December, S&G Response were invited to lend some helping hands at one of CAFT’s Christmas Parties at the Adventure Farm, allowing us to experience firsthand the importance our Christmas Appeal and how our work benefits children visiting the farm. Our people dressed in some Christmas costumes and spent the day dancing with these wonderful children, they received and abundance of high fives and cuddles and took part in the multitude of festive activities arranged throughout the day.
S&G Response Commercial Director, Nik Griffiths, commented ‘We have been working closely with CAFT on numerous fundraisers during 2019 as the work they do is so important. Being able to not only fundraise for the charity but also volunteer and see the difference our donations make in person is intensely rewarding and heart-warming. I couldn’t be prouder of the teamwork executed by the S&G Response employees, and couldn’t thank everyone who got involved and donated enough, you have truly made Christmas special for the children visiting CAFT this December. ’
