I have been remote working now for just over 100 days! Where has the time gone!? While writing this, I have been able to reflect on what I and the business have been working on during this pandemic and I can honestly say, I feel proud to work for S&G Response.
When it was announced that all employees will be remote working, I certainly wasn’t overjoyed by the idea but knew that the company had our best interests at heart. The transition couldn’t have gone any smoother, which is a testament to our IT department led by Tom Hopes. The company have been open and honest about its performance, with updates been given every week by our Directors to both working and furloughed employees. It’s times like this where communication is key!
I have surprised myself with how well I have adapted. That doesn’t mean I cannot wait to get back in to the office! It has given me the opportunity to develop my skills, my knowledge and confidence. This pandemic has enabled me to be innovative and come up with new ways to streamline processes and improve efficiency. My lifestyle has changed for the positive, I now substitute food for alcohol which has given me the chance to lose some weight and enjoy life that little bit more. Kidding…. I now have a healthier lifestyle (with the occasional drink) and have become more active. I have used my spare time to learn the guitar and who knows…. I might even be booked for the entertainment at our next Christmas party 😉
I am going to leave you with this…… ‘It’s not what happens to you but how you react to it that matters’
See you all very soon!
