High on our agenda is providing local employment opportunities for local people and the recent careers event was an opportunity to engage with young people and provide information and guidance on the future career opportunities we have to offer. The current percentage of our employees who live within a 5 mile radius of our head office in Wilmslow is 67% and the future aim is to increase this number to support our ambitious growth plans throughout 2019.
We offer a variety of employment opportunities and the recent launch of our in-house Apprentice Academy has given eight opportunities to young local people who have completed higher education and are now embarking on a skills based qualification with on the job learning. The business has also made a future commitment to provide additional apprenticeship opportunities each year and by working with Wilmslow High will further strengthen the partnership and provide opportunities to their students looking at taking their first steps into employment.
